Night of the Living Dead

More like Day of the Living Dead. That's what I feel like today. Especially sitting through a class about all the ways you can leave a gift to an organization after your death by planning for it now. So much tax code! Read about my night and cringe . . .

But first, a reminder of how I'm living right now. I'm at the Executive Office, which is basically a sorority house with office space. The basement has what we call the "bunk room" and it's filled with bunk beds. Some showers and bathrooms, you get the gist of it. Lots of people come and go here. We have a bunch of traveling consultants who work for the year after graduation, so they're young and fresh out of school. They go from chapter to chapter, basically continuing their college experience a little longer. They come and go, as do board members, staff members, etc. So right now, the bunk room is housing two consultants, me and another staff member.

10:00 p.m. - other staff member turns off lights
10:30 p.m. - Lisa in bed with mini book light to read by
11:00 p.m. - Lisa turns off book light
11:15 p.m. - one consultant comes in and turns on lights (real ones) to read
11:40 p.m. - other consultant comes in and starts texting
11:45 p.m. - lights go off
12:00 a.m. - texting consultant's phone starts beeping
1:00 a.m. - Lisa has to pee
2:00 a.m. - phone starts beeping
4:00 a.m. - Lisa has to pee
4:05 a.m. - other staff member gets up to catch plane, showers, blows hair dry, etc.
5:20 a.m. - other staff member wakes me up to ask for alarm code to disable
5:21 - 6:00 a.m. - Lisa can't sleep because alarm is going off at 6a and she's scared she'll sleep through it
6:05 a.m. - Lisa drags herself out of bed
6:20 a.m. - Lisa's in creepy old shower that's about 1.5 feet square when lights go out and come back on - Lisa freaks out there's a murderer in the office
7:00 a.m. - Lisa pops three morning pills and swallows
7:00:20 a.m. - Lisa walks 10 feet to bag, bends over to put on shoes and sees a pill lying on the ground; Lisa picks up pill, compares it to her birth control and concludes they're one and the same - somehow pill didn't make it down Lisa's throat but ended up on floor at her feet - did it get stuck to my hand? Fall out of my mouth?

It's going to be a looong day . . .

8:41 p.m. - Lisa turns off computer to get into bed
